When a major logistics company in South Africa engaged nVisionIT, their existing vehicle tracing solution was created in 2008 and was responsible for tracking 30 000 vehicles. From a technology perspective the solution was built with the best technology available at the time and whilst the system supported the client’s then requirements, the system was lacking in Client Web Application and the Reporting Systems features.
The client required a software solution provider to enhance their existing Web System interface that is client facing, in order to match the advances that they had made in the hardware space. They also required a better solution for their reporting needs in the form of interactive dashboards…
Land Management, Mauritius
50,000 Plots of Land
Mauritius Cane Industry Authority required a system to track the status of cane cultivated land – with a tools that will allow planters and developers to identify the most appropriate plots for their needs.
The system is designed to hold all of the 50,000 plots of land in the most efficient manner. Data is obtained in Shapefile and corresponding Excel with metadata such as status, account number, locality, rainfall, area under cane cultivation, etc.
Interactive maps of agricultural land show the different areas on the map of Mauritius, with each factory area, locality and plot area marked and coloured according to land use. Search, reports and dashboards enable decision making action to take on Abandoned lands, among other features.
